There Was An Old Woman - Lesson 12 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children she didn't know what to do!
So she gave them some broth without any bread,
And she whipped them all soundly and sent them to bed!

Proverbs 3:11,12

My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

Luke 17

David and Bathsheba

When David made the HUGE mistake of getting Bathsheba pregnant and setting it up to be sure that her husband would die in the war, he was disciplined in a very interesting way.  Not only did David already show himself that what he did was wrong but he suffered though the consequences in a fairly well fashion.  He accepted them and moved on with his life, but albeit thinking hard to not make that mistake again.  We should all understand that God teaches us with correction because He loves us and wants us to know how to do things right!

Psalm 136

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
            His love endures forever.

Luke 17

The Ten Lepers

The ten lepers were very smart to seek out Jesus and ask for mercy (Please).  Each of them were healed because of it, but only one of them was thoughtful and thankful enough to return and offer thanks. "Please" and "Thank You" are magical because of what they do inside of us - as well as those around us when we or they use them!  You can use them too!

On Top of Spaghetti - Lesson 10 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.
It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.
It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.
The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.
The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.
So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.

Proverbs 25:28

New International Version (NIV)
Like a city whose walls are broken through
is a person who lacks self-control.

Genesis 25

Jacob and Esau

In the silly song we meet someone who has an odd obsession with food... The meatball of the spaghetti and our bible story also deals with a good obsession. Esau wanted the stew that his brother Jacob made so bad that he ignored his future in his decision making. It does not matter what we are deciding upon, we always need to be sure that what we do will not destiny our futures. Esau lost the blessings as a firstborn son for a bowl of soup, try not to do the same with God's blessings to you - do not make rash decisions!

Five Little Monkeys - Lesson 9 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Four little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

One little monkey jumping on the bed
He fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

No little monkeys jumping on the bed
None fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
Put those monkeys back in bed!

Psalm 119:5

GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
I pray that my ways may become firmly established
so that I can obey your laws.

Genesis 22

Isaac's "Sacrifice" by Abraham

Just like the five little monkey's Abraham was given instructions, but instead of doing what was wrong and disobeying he listened and followed the instructions.  God gave Abraham a promise that He (God) would bless the WORLD though his (Abraham) children, but Abraham did not have any children - so Abraham did what God asked anyway!  Soon after Abraham and Sarah had Issac God asked Abraham to sacrifice him (Issac) on the mountain.  Abraham did his part, but in the process of striking with the knife an Angel appeared and stopped him, telling him that his faith was strong! Issac and Abraham sacrificed a ram that was struggling in the bushes behind them!

  Is your faith strong?

Can you trust in God as much as Abraham did?
