Fruit of the Spirit - Lesson 4 - Peace vs Anxiety

Doe Doe and The Peaceful Ball (An Object Lesson on Spiritual Peace)  :

Mark 4:35-41 Jesus in the storm .. Peace be Still

In this story Jesus and his disciples are traveling from one side of a to another in a boat, but a storm ensues. Those with Jesus begin to develop extreme anxiety for the situation they are in.  They have no control over the storm and the boat is taking in water.  A sinking boat is never a fun place to be.  All this time though, Jesus is asleep - Jesus is peaceful. No matter the storm or the rocking of the boat, Jesus had peace.  When He is awoken he takes care of the storm.  We have that peace as well, we have Jesus - peaceful as ever - holding us in His grip.. ready to calm any storm we may find ourselves in.  Thank the Lord for Him, and the peace He wants us to have!

Acts 16 Paul and Salas singing in chains

Paul and Silas were placed into prison for doing God's work in the streets.  A spirit was called out of a girl that was being used to make money.  This angered the people and they made sure that Paul and Silas were put into jail.  Not only into jail, but also chained to the jail.  This was a moment many of us might have felt extreme sadness, and maybe we would have blamed God, but instead Paul and Silas choose to sing praises to God.  They picked joy over sadness - and in doing so they were a wonderful example to the others around them, not to mention having them all released from the jail and having an entire family accepting of Christ in their lives!

Luke 8 Jesus and Legion 

The man known as Legion was pressed to the tombs in chains because of the people's fear for him, but Jesus had love for him - Jesus stepped up and healed him! This did not change the people though.  They were now fearful of Jesus!  How can we fear the one who comes to help us? Even it does not happen the way we think it should.  Fear may hold us back, but embrace the love God has for others and you will not fear reaching out to others!

Doe Doe shows how no matter what a problem our friend is in, there is always SOMETHING we can do - and if we were in trouble we would want our friends to do what they could too!

Putting your hand out to help someone else is a great way to share your faith and in the case of the story of the paralyzed man the faith of his friends got him to where he was able to be healed.  Sometimes the help your friends need is to be brought to Jesus.

Simply tell others about what God has done in your life.  Your testimony is a great way to share your faith, and you can tell them about real  things that help you in your walk.  Just like the Israelites stacked stones to remind them to teach their children - we should do what we can to remember to do the same.

Numbers 20 Moses Hitting when He Should have been Speaking

Being like Christ is a perfect way to share our faith.  If we act like Him, live like Him, think like Him we will be showing others HIM through us! Moses was told to SPEAK to the rock the second time around and while hitting it did produce the desired results at the time, his improper obedience kept him from the promised land later.  Be an imitator of Christ in all things, and you will enter the kingdom of heaven with others who learned from you!

Sharing your Faith is as simple as LOVING OTHERS.  Jesus had no problem showing love to anyone He came into contact with.  When He was asked 'Who is my neighbor' Jesus told a story to show how ANYONE can be a neighbor if we extend love towards them.  By not doing this we limit the sharing of our FAITH - so show love towards another TODAY!

We make sharing our Faith harder than it should at times.  Jesus told us not to judge, and the easiest way to do as Jesus has asked us in Matthew 7 is to be forgiving of others.  Just by doing this, you are sharing your faith in Jesus.  One day someone may ask you how you deal with things, and you can tell them all about how Jesus helps you through it, and the grace He has that gives you Faith in Him and a willingness to FORGIVE OTHERS!

While we do not know what heaven is exactly going to be like, we can trust that Jesus is there and taking care of creating a place for us that is just right!  This world can have many things that we enjoy and Jesus knows this.  Let us not worry about heaven and just do what God has called to do on earth for Him: Show others HIS love!

There will be a moment of judgement to come, but if we can just focus on what Christ says to those he speaks to - the sheep and the goats.  The thing that he either praises them for, or chastises them for... is that of helping others.  If we can have an attitude of helpfulness to others while following Christ, we never need to worry about this judgment.. we will all be sheep!

The Starship Truthprise has been abandoned, Captain D, Billy, and crew are now with the Spaceman and have been with Him peacefully for 998 years... Where could they be going?

in The Millennial Reign of Christ when Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace.

For 1000 years there will be peace because the Devil will be tied up and not be able to mess with anyone.  Jesus will reign on earth and there will be peace on earth! This is amazing and would really be something very cool to see.

in The Blessed Hope—When Jesus Raptures His Church Prior to His Return to Earth(the second coming). At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever.

Jesus WILL return.  We do not know the day, nor the time, but He will return - but there is no need to worry as He loves us and gave us a way to be with Him.  He will call for us and we will go to Him.  Just like Billy and Captain D hear the voice of the Spaceman we, if we believe in Jesus, will hear and know His voice.  We will go and be with Him in this time.
