Peter's Escape from Prison (Acts 12)

Prayer is powerful!  Our trust in it can be faltering though, much like this bible story.  Friends had the faith and strength to get together and pray for Peter in his time of need, but as the prayer was answered and they were confronted with the idea of it being done and him being there ... even better than what they were praying for likely.. they thought it crazy.  Lets be confident in our prayers and not be skeptical of the answering of them.

Ehud had to be smart and know that because he was lefthanded that he could possibly get past the guards.  We need to understand properly how to use the word of God.  This knowledge, with God's insight, we can do things right and  proper.  We can only do this if we read it often and hide it in our hearts.  Knowing truth and living it properly keeps us from falling into a trap of trusting our flesh and becoming imprisoned to it.  We can be like Ehud and break these holds by trusting in God and having him use our special skills to do amazing things!

Nicodemus (Being Born Again)

Salvation is an act of death and resurrection that is simple yet complex enough that even a religious leader like Nicodemus could not grasp.  We must remember to go to Christ, even if it is in the night, and learn what we can.  It is never a bad thing to come to Him with questions, because He will provide us with an answer.  It does not mean that we will understand right away, but hopefully will get it just like Nicodemus did, later. We must accept Jesus in order to be saved and right here in this story we can understand that when we do we should be a different person afterwards... it may not happen right at that moment, but the more and more we go to Christ the better we will understand.  Death will never hold us because Christ's blood will be upon us giving us eternal life.

Woman with issue of Blood

Belief is an easy thing to gain and as well an easy thing to lose with just a bit of doubt.  Our faith is the thing that protects us from our doubts. Of course doubts can chip away faith, but the more strength we put into faith the more our belief can grow and end up making miracles.  This woman in this story had TONS of faith. Believing by just touching only the hem of his robe she would be healed of something that had bothered her for many years.  We can have this kind of faith and with it we can be protected from doubt and trust fully in the Lord.

Sally Storie's Quest For The Armor of God : Lesson 2 - Shoes of Peace

Chaos is a beast that can control us and make us quit whatever we are working to do.  When Jesus walked on water towards the boat that the disciples were on, only one of them asked Jesus to command him to come out.  With that command from Christ Peter took steps upon water.  This is certainly wonderful, but the storm that was around them took the attention of Peter and with that lost focus he began to sink, but Jesus was still there and was able to pull him out.  This is the same for us.. we CAN have peace in the storm - we CAN do the miraculous.. we just need to be certain that our eyes are on Christ and not lost in the storm we may have around us.

How do you equip it? 
Take Captive Every thought and give it to Jesus

Jeremiah 36 & 2 Cor. 10:5

At any moment in time, any thought or choice can enter your mind - the question of what you are going to do with that can determine much.  You can take that thought captive and weigh it against the Word, or you can be like the king in Jeremiah 36 that just burned away what God was speaking right after it was spoken.  If we truly want to be able to fight temptation we always need to take a bit of time to capture and give our thoughts to Jesus.  Only He can 'clean up' the bad ones and make the good ones even better than they already are.
