An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 12 - Divine Healing

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

The ship that Captain D and the crew saved have many that are sick. Do they have what they need to healing..

We Believe..

Divine Healing of the Sick is a Privilege for Christians Todayand is provided for in Christ's atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

Memory Verse :

Psalm 147:3

New International Version (NIV)
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Doe Doe and The Hearty Healing (An Object Lesson on Divine Healing) :

Doe Doe shows how with Jesus, we have a hope of Divine Healing in our lives!

Bible Lesson :

Mark 8:22-26

Divine Healing is true and powerful, but we see here in this story a progressive healing.  We should never be discouraged because of things that are not healed in our lives.  Jesus CAN heal you.. and it may take a while, or a few trys.. or maybe there is something special in your affliction that Jesus wants to show God's glory.  Healing is real, and relevant today!

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 11 - Servant Leaders

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

Will Captain D and his crew do all that they can in order to help those that are in trouble?

We Believe..

A Divinely Called and Scripturally Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church. The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, to build up or edify the body of believers–the Church and to Meet human need with ministries of love and compassion.

Memory Verse :

Ephesians 4:11-13

New International Version (NIV)
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Doe Doe and The Sponge Leaders (An Object Lesson on Leadership and Growth)  :

Doe Doe shows the Lakewood Kids how when leaders work together they can get better and bigger than the things they need to deal with!

Bible Lesson :

Being a leader means different things for different people.  Most see a leader as the person on top, in charge, and no one ever tells them what to do or how to do it, but God sees leaders as servants to those 'below' them.  We put ourselves LOWER to show love to others around us.  Jesus did this by doing a servants job in washing the feet of the disciples. How will you do it?

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 10 - The Church Has A Mission

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

The crew of the Starship Truthprise was going to have a party but they found a distress signal.. Will they help who is in need or have their party?

We Believe..

The Church has a Mission to seek and save all who are lost in sin.We believe 'the Church' is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God's offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ.

Memory Verse :

Mark 16:15-16

New International Version (NIV)
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Doe Doe and The Lost and Found (An Object Lesson on Finding The Lost)  :

Doe Doe lets the kids create lost cards,  only to have other kids try and find them.. Can they do it?

Bible Lesson :
Matthew 28:16-20 (Great Commission)

Jesus returns and addresses many believers (as well as some doubters) informing them that we have a mission.  We are to make disciples, Baptize them, and teach them to obey God.  Of course all of these things we should do ourselves, otherwise why get someone else to do what you have not? All you have to do to fulfill this commission is speak up to others about Jesus.  It does not matter who, where, or why ... you can talk about Jesus at any time and He tells us here how he is with us ... that the spirit of God will comfort us and help us to do the job we have been given!

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 9 - Sanctification

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

Starship Truthprise is due for an upgrade and Billy is trying to figure out what the beeping noise is in the engine! Can the ship get better and better?

We Believe..

Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation and is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christlike.

Memory Verse :

Romans 12:1-2

New International Version (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Doe Doe and The Unwanted Gift (An Object Lesson on Sanctification)  :

Doe Doe talks about a gift that no one really wants, but Jesus will take from all of us, but as well... how when we give ourselves to God - we are not empty but have so much more to offer... and to learn!

Bible Lesson :

Matthew 9:1-8 (Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man)

Salvation is only the doorway into a walk with Christ.  We see a very interesting interaction between Jesus and a Paralyzed man in Matthew chapter 9.  Instead of giving the man what it seemed he needed (a healing) Jesus tells him that his sins are forgiven.  By the end of the encounter we see that his legs were healed as well, but Jesus was looking into the more important issue.  God may come into our lives and forgive us, and clean us of our sins, but it does and should  not just stop there.  We should continue walking forward in Christ.  We should believe that we could sin no more in our lives - that we can grow more and more Christ-like everyday!

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 8 - Speaking In Tongues

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

Billy and Captain D just found out that the navigation device has a translator within and they can speak and understand any alien life forms! Very useful on a spaceship!

We Believe..

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and the Epistles.

Memory Verse :

James 3:5-6

New International Version (NIV)
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.

Doe Doe and the Flaming Tongue (An object lesson on Speaking in Tongues)  :

Doe Doe shows us an example of how powerful one tiny flame can be - and how there is only one way that we can control our tongue!

Bible Lesson :

Acts 10:24-48 (Cornelius and His Friends Speaking in Tongues)

We may think that we are special because we are saved by Jesus, and really this is how the Jewish community felt about themselves because they were the chosen people of God.  God did a miraculous thing when he poured the Holy Spirit on Cornelius and his friends because they were all gentiles, which meant that they were NOT Jews and NOT the chosen people.

It showed that God was accepting all people.  He did this by making sure something happened - speaking in tongues.  It is possible that they would have believed without that outward sign, but with it - the disciples AND 'circumcised' according to the story could not doubt that God had done what happened there.  Do not doubt what God does in your life, and never be afraid to give Him control of that most powerful device, your tongue!

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 7 - The Baptism of The Holy Spirit

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

Captain D is having Billy install the New Navigation Device! Will it work? Is it better? Find out!

We Believe..

the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a Special Experience Following Salvation that empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in New Testament times.

Memory Verse :

Acts 1:8

New International Version (NIV)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Doe Doe and The Magnifying Holy Spirit (An Object Lesson)  :

Doe Doe talks about the Power of the Holy Spirit, while maybe over simplified... it is pretty cool!

Bible Lesson :

Acts 2 (Peter's bold stand)

Peter has a seemingly rapid transition on the day of Pentecost, the day that the believers received the Holy Spirit.  The believers are together, unified in so many things, and God opens up the heavens gifting them with His Holy Spirit!  This promised gift finally comes and outward signs begin to occur.  Those watching and not receiving can only mock and talk down about those that are affected by the Spirit of God.  Peter stands boldly and lets them know that this was foretold to happen in the book of Joel.  He stands tall, with proper knowledge for this crowd, to get them to have even.. a slightly better understanding of what is happening.  The power of the Holy Spirit is so many things; direction, understanding, knowledge, power, comfort... and so much more.  Let us accept it when we can, and not bring down others that are receiving it!

An Adventure Through Space Learning The Fundamentals of Truth - Lesson 6 - Two Ordinances: Baptism & Communion

Starship Truthprise's Space Log :

Salvation station has taken care of the ship! As well the have provided Billy with some special items! Check it out!

We Believe..

and practice two ordinances—(1) Water Baptism by Immersion after repenting of one's sins and receiving Christ's gift of salvation, and (2) Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) as a symbolic remembrance of Christ's suffering and death for our salvation.

Memory Verse :

1 Corinthians 11:25 NIV

In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

Matthew 28:19 NIV

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Doe Doe and The Inner Changed Cone (An Object Lesson about Outward Ordinances)  :

Doe Doe names a few pieces of card board and teaches the importance of inner change!

Bible Lesson :

Jesus' Baptism (Matthew 3)
Jesus Starting Communion (Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22)

Jesus lived as an example for us in so many ways.  The greatest is his selfless love for all others.  We can be like this as well, but there were also some outward things Jesus did to 'show' others His dedication and remembrance of truth. He was baptized, even though John felt that he was not worthy to do it, Jesus understood the importance of showing this outwardly, and explained it for us later.  We are baptized just as Jesus was and it symbolizes the end of the sinful man and the birth of the new man covered in the blood of Christ!  Jesus also made reference during the last supper of our need to remember what He was to do in order for us to have acceptance in Salvation.  We remember the blood shed and the body that was torn for us.  While these outward things do not really change us, we really 'want' to do them because of our inward changes due to the acceptance of Christ within!
