Abraham's servant finding the wife for Isaac

It would be really hard to accomplish a job like this servant was given without guidance from God.  When this servant prays and sets up specific things that must happen for him to know who the right woman to marry Isaac would be, he is really creating a map to the 'treasure' he is in search of.  God has the treasures out there for us, we just need to be sensitive to His voice to understand when they are ours or for someone else! Read His Word, the Bible, The true 'map' to heaven that guides us to Christ and salvation!

Simon the Sorcerer Tries To Buy The Holy Spirit

When we have no map, nothing helping to guide us to our treasure, it is very easy to get and be lost.  In the movie Jim is making bad decisions and getting into trouble, and Simon has no idea how the Holy Spirit works and decides that buying it is the best plan.  Each of their decisions will likely lead them to death. Peter is gracious and truthful enough to inform Simon of his mistake as well as the possible repercussions and calling for him to repent, but without that 'piece of a may' Simon would have been lost again.  Let us trust in the words of David to his son Solomon that if we are in search of the Lord we WILL find Him.  This assures us that no matter how unprepared we are, if we just have the desire to search for Him, we will be given everything needed to find Him!

The simplest way to worship God is to be Heavenly Minded. If we can have our minds on God in everything that we do, then we are worshiping God in every thing.  It may seem that this would be easy, but it can get very hard so never give up and just start thinking about God again when you realize you lost thought of Him!

We Are The Body

 

We are all individually part of a large body that makes up the church.  We all have our individual gifts that are all needed at different times.  We cannot look down on someone else's gift and as well look up to someone else if it is just going to make us feel bad about ours.  We should accept ours and do the best we can with it for God's Kingdom!

The Widow Woman

To be a widow in this time pretty much meant that you were going to be poor, because usually the men were the ones that took care of the jobs and finances.  For this woman to be in such a state and still trust in God enough to give literally EVERYTHING she had - she impressed Jesus more than those that gave because they had some pocket change.  Does this mean that you should give up everything you have? .. Not really, but be ready to listen to God and know when you should give and when you should hold onto things.  They are all to be used for His kingdom!

How To Pray

 

Is it not reassuring to know that even with Jesus right in front of them, they still did not really understand prayer.  Jesus makes it very simple.  He really shows just the important things we need to be sure to bring to God.  Remember this and never feel that you cannot talk to God at any time!
