Little Miss Muffet - Lesson 8 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey,
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away

2 Timothy 1:7

New King James Version (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Daniel 6

Daniel In The Lions Den

In the story of Little Miss Muffet .. something was lowered and created fear, as well in the story of Daniel - He was lowered into the den of lions and fear could have overcome him, but instead he had what God gives us all - Power, Love, and a Sound Mind.  God took care of what Daniel could have feared - God will also take care of what you may fear!

The Power of ONE! (Wednesday)

Have you ever felt like you are insignificant in this big, overwhelming world?
Did you know that God can use you, no matter how small and insignificant you may feel?

So many times in our lives we want to have a great big pity party and sulk over how we aren't needed, we aren't loved, we aren't USED.

Just like in the picture above, if ONE of those cups from the tower are knocked out, what happens? The whole thing collapses.  Or in the photo below, coloring only one square may not seem like a lot but one square in the big picture changes the whole look.

Are you allowing God to use you for His bigger picture?

It is my prayer for you today that you ask God to show you how significant you are in the body of Christ. That you understand that you are not unwanted and unused, and you are NOT unloved and unworthy, but you are a part of a BIG picture.

God has a huge plan for all of our lives, and if we walk in His calling for us, we can be the piece He wants us to be in His picture.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider - Lesson 7 of Nursery Rhymes and Silly Songs

Photobucket

Itsy Bitsy spider went up the spout
Down came the rain and washed the spider out
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
and Itsy Bitsy spider went up the spout again!

Galatians 6:9

New International Version (NIV)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Genesis 6

Noah Building The Ark

Just like the itsy bitsy spider, Noah had some hard times dealing with working hard - and even with water.  Noah had to do what God asked of him to SAVE man on earth - as well as all the animals! What would have happened if Noah had given up?  We would not even be here!  Your job for God is important too! So never give up!!

Would you like my leftovers?

How many of you would like to eat these leftovers?

Sure they look good still, but they are not my best. If you asked me for a candy bar, and I delivered this, would you be pleased?

Psalm 111:1 says I will praise the Lord with my  WHOLE heart.  (emphasis mine)  NKJV

How many times do we give God what he asks of us half halfheartedly?  God asks us to worship Him, to put Him first. Do we make this a priority?

Last week we began the process of starting a worship service with our children instead of having them in big church during worship.  One of the first things we want to teach them is to worship God with their WHOLE heart. He is worthy of that, and we don't need to hold back from giving Him what He deserves.

Do we get distracted by the person dancing in the aisle next to us?   How about by the snickering going on amongst others who are only there to be there and not to worship?   Do we let our minds wander from things other than Christ. Are we giving Him our leftovers?

I challenge you today, to give God your VERY best. Give Him your whole heart.

A wise man once taught me that worship is simply you loving on Jesus, and letting Jesus love on you. This can take on many forms, from working with all of your ability as unto God, to singing Him praises, to simply being a good steward of your time, money, and talents.

Are you giving Him your all today? .

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt - Lesson 6 of Nursery Rhymes and Silly Songs

John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt,
His name is my name, too.
Whenever we go out,
The people always shout,
"There goes John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt!"
A na na na na na na.

2 Timothy 2:19

New Living Translation (NLT)
But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”

Genesis 32:22-32
Jacob wrestling with God and having his name changed to Israel

It would be very odd if everyone had the same name, like in the Silly song "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt"!  It is a good thing that we have the names we do - and God knows your name!  He knows who you are and what you will - or could do in our life!  He believes in you - that no matter where you feel like you are right now, you can be something GREAT!! Jacob was a liar and a cheater, but God changed his name into the Nation of Israel and God can do the same for you!!

Doe Doe talks about how God knows our name - and that if God can change Jacob's into an entire nation, He can change yours too!!

Jack Be Nimble - Lesson 5 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

Jack be Nimble
Jack be quick
Jack jump over
the candlestick

Isaiah 43:2

New International Version (NIV)

2 When you pass through the waters,
   I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
   you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

Daniel 3
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace

These three guys have an amazing story - much like Jack - they were nimble, but not because of their own power!  They were able to stand up to a king and do what is right in the eyes of God!   God's power was with them as they stepped into their fiery furnace, and God will be with you when you have a 'fiery funace' problem!

Doe Doe showing us how, even with Jesus in heaven - He is watching out for us!

Do Your Ears Hang Low - Lesson 4 of Nursery Rhyme and Silly Songs

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them o'er your shoulder
Like a Continental Soldier?
Do your ears hang low?
Do your ears hang high?
Do they reach up to the sky?
Do they wrinkle when they're wet?
Do they straighten when they're dry?
Can you wave them at your neighbor
With an element of flavor?
Do your ears hang high?
Do your ears hang wide?
Do they flap from side to side?
Do they wave in the breeze
From the slightest little sneeze?
Can you soar above the nation
With a feeling of elevation?
Do your ears hang wide?
Do your ears fall off
When you give a great big cough?
Do they lie there on the ground
Or bounce up at every sound?
Can you stick them in your pocket
Just like Davy Crocket?
Do your ears fall off?
Does your tongue hang down?
Does it flop all around?
Can you tie it in a knot?
Can you tie it in a bow?
Can you throw it o'er your shoulder
Like a Continental Soldier?
Does your tongue hang down?
Does your nose hang low?
Does it wiggle to and fro?
Can you tie it in a knot?
Can you tie it in a bow?
Can you throw it o'er your shoulder
Like a Continental Soldier?
Does your nose hang low?
Do your eyes pop out?
Do they bounce all about?
Can you tie them in a knot?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them o'er your shoulder
Like a Continental Soldier?
Do your eyes pop out?

John 13:34 AMP

I give you a new commandment: that you should love one
another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.

2 Kings 2:23-24

Elijah and the bears

In this passage of the bible we learn about some young men that thought it was funny to make fun of a man of God!  They noticed that he was bald - and make rude statements to him about it.  We may look at others and see the differences they have from us and think that this is ok because our friends our doing it too.  The truth is that all these boys were hurt because they could not show love to a stranger that was different from themselves.  We should encourage our friends and not make fun of them - no matter the size of their ears, their height, or anything else... instead we should come together in the unity of Christ and BE that BODY!!

It is Doe Doe The Magnificent with another Object Lesson! He does some amazing things with three ropes, a nut, and large ring!!

Do you have a prayer request? (Wednesday, Prayer)

Today the Lakewood Kids all made prayer bags! This is a great exercise because you can put the requests in your bag and take them out when they have been answered, as well you can remember your requests when it is time to pray!
